GAIGANow is dedicated to establishing an effective, equitable, and accountable global governance framework for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other disruptive digital technologies. Rooted in the principles of the World Federalist Movement – Institute for Global Policy (WFM-IGP), we champion multi-stakeholder collaboration, uniting NGOs, governments, academia, and civil society to ensure AI’s safe and inclusive development. Recognizing the urgency of AI governance, we seek to unify the fragmented global discourse, creating an Alliance of like-minded stakeholders to advocate for structured, responsible, and forward-thinking regulatory mechanisms.

To achieve this, GAIGANow:

Promotes (promotes the need for the early global governance of AI)

Promotes the urgent need for early and inclusive global governance of AI by advocating for international policies and legal frameworks that prevent catastrophic risks, mitigate bias, protect fundamental freedoms, and ensure AI does not exacerbate inequality. 

Raises awareness of global governance gaps and champions ethical development, ensuring that AI systems are designed and deployed with safety, fairness, and human values at the forefront, rather than being driven solely by profit or geopolitical competition.

Builds (builds a broad alliance of NGOs, academia, and other stakeholder groups)

Builds a diverse and inclusive alliance of NGOs, academic institutions, civil society actors, and other stakeholder groups by fostering global cooperation. Through strategic partnerships, GAIGANow brings together varied perspectives to co-create governance structures that balance innovation with ethical safeguards and ensure AI technologies benefit all of humanity.

Additionally, GAIGANow strengthens collective capacity through education, training, and joint initiatives, empowering individuals and organizations to take part in shaping the future of AI governance.

Engages (works with that broader alliance to engage like-minded states)

Engages like-minded states through strategic cooperation with its broader alliance, working to hold governments, corporations, and AI developers accountable for transparency, ethical conduct, and long-term global stewardship.

Through thematic working groups and shared platforms, GAIGANow co-develops practical governance tools with these allies to ensure alignment with democratic principles, fundamental rights, and the rule of law.

Catalyses (works with those states and other stakeholders to bring about the timely multilateral and global governance of Al)

Catalyses momentum toward formal global negotiations by consolidating and evaluating diverse governance proposals and by working closely with aligned states and influential stakeholders. 

GAIGANow acts as a facilitator in intergovernmental discussions, helping to shape consensus and drive coordinated political will for launching AI Global Governance processes that serve the public interest.

AI governance is one of the most pressing challenges of our time. Without urgent and coordinated global action, the risks of AI could far outweigh its benefits.
